RCB moved back into the top four of the IPL table after another swashbuckling innings from Chris Gayle inspired them to a comprehensive victory over Mumbai Indians.
Powerful West Indies batsman Gayle bludgeoned an unbeaten 82 from just 59 balls - claiming the orange cap in the process - to ease Bangalore to a nine-wicket win after Mumbai had posted just 141 for six.
Gayle and Virat Kohli (36 not out) traded sixes to finish the match in style with two overs remaining at the Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai's vociferous home support had earlier been quietened when their side slumped to 100 for six batting first.
Muttiah Muralitharan (2-24), Harshal Patel (2-34) and Vinay Kumar (2-34) shared six wickets for Bangalore and only some lusty late hitting from Kieron Pollard (21no) boosted Mumbai up to a competitive total.
But the score never looked big enough to trouble a star-studded Bangalore batting line-up and so it proved when Tillakaratne Dilshan and Gayle added 48 for the first wicket.
Dilshan, trapped lbw by Pragyan Ohja for 19, was the only wicket to fall as Gayle and Kohli timed the run-chase expertly.
Gayle smashed six sixes and in the process became the first player to pass 500 runs in this year's tournament.
