All roads led to Taj Lands End on Friday night as the who’s who of Bollywood turned up to wish birthday boy, filmmaker Karan Johar.
From Aamir to Shah Rukh to Kajol to Parineeti, all turned up at the biggest bash of B-Town, dressed in their best. And yes, Priyanka Chopra also made it to the do dressed in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana gown. The actress put to rest all the rumours about her and Karan’s much publicised fall out as she made a late entry just after midnight.
Gauri Khan, who also happens to be Karan Johar’s best friend, made a rare appearance with hubby Shah Rukh. The lady who hasn’t been seen in public outings of late perhaps made an exception for Karan.
Kapoor sisters, Karisma and Kareena walked in together. So did Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora. Amrita, who is four months pregnant, looked splendid in an off shoulder black gown. Preity Zinta walked in with Hrithik Roshan and Suzzane.
The party was a red carpet event and almost every guest obliged to the waiting media by posing for them, except Vidya Balan. An otherwise media friendly person, Balan, who was dressed in a saree, rushed inside without posing for the shutterbugs. She was accompanied by her beau Sidharth Roy Kapoor and maybe the couple is still not ready to pose for the media.
Parineeti Chopra walked in hand in hand with (surprise surprise) Uday Chopra. Uday’s production house, Yash Raj Films, launched Parineeti last year in ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Behl’. The two obliged the media happily and Parineeti looked stunning in a blown and gold gown. Parineeti’s ‘Ishaqzaade’ co-star, Arjun Kapoor walked in with his family, uncle Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep and sister Anjula.
Interestingly, the media wasn’t allowed to leave till Priayanka Chopra made her entry. Maybe Karan had a point to prove there.
Of the prominent faces that were missing from the party were Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor as all of them were out of town for work. John Abraham and Priya Runchal were also expected to come for the party but gave it a miss. Bipasha Basu could be the reason, maybe?
